The Forbidden City, was the imperial palace of emperors in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is the largest and most complete ancient architectural complex existing in China. The whole palace was planned in a neat way and with an imposing manner, so it can be called as an unparalleled masterpiece. It fully demonstrates the remarkable achievements of Chinese architecture and symbolizes the great cultural tradition of Chinese nationality.
The pure silk and color painting long scroll of the Forbidden City, is designed by Mr. Liu Hongkuan originally. As a celebrated scenery painter in Beijing, he is especially well-known for meticulous brushwork. His famous work “the Axis of Old Beijing” is praised by Zhu Jiajin, a historian from the Palace Museum as “Heavenly Streets”. By advanced level of full color and pure silk printing technique in high precision, it adopts the gorgeous silk as the carrier.
