Tianyi Pavilion (Tianyi Ge) is a world-famous building for its book collection and the oldest existing library in Asia. It is also the third earliest private library in the world now in existence. As one of the most age-old libraries in Chinese history, Tianyi Pavilion has an indissoluble bond with scholars and literary giants of past dynasties. Some celebrities such as Huang Zongxi, Wan Sitong, Quan Zuwang and Yuan Mei had all visited Tianyi Pavilion and written poems, in order to express their innermost admiration. Among them, the most influential article is the “Book Collection Notes of Tianyi Pavilion” written by Huang Zongxi, a great thinker and statesman in Ming Dynasty.
